In mid-March, our CTO, Karsten Thygesen, and CPO, Stig Andersen, had the opportunity to visit Cisco’s Customer Experience Center (CXC) in Heathrow, UK.
The trip, organized by Comstor, provided a deep dive into Cisco’s latest security, networking, and smart building solutions.
As one of the largest global Cisco distributors, Comstor plays a key role in supporting partners like Trifork Security by providing expertise, training and access to Cisco’s vast ecosystem.
With Cisco’s recent acquisition of Splunk, this visit was especially relevant for Trifork Security as a Splunk Elite Partner. Understanding how Cisco’s security portfolio integrates with Splunk’s analytics and threat detection capabilities is crucial as the two ecosystems become more tightly connected.
Key takeaways from the visit
During the visit a range of security and networking solutions were introduced and explored providing valuable insights into:
Cisco Secure portfolio
- Cisco Secure Endpoint: Advanced threat detection through EDR, behavioral analytics, and XDR integration.
- Cisco Secure Firewall: Comprehensive intrusion prevention, malware protection, and URL filtering.
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE): Zero Trust enforcement for network access control.
- Cisco XDR: Correlating data across security layers for faster threat detection and response.
Meraki Security
- Meraki MX security & SD-WAN appliances: Unified threat management and optimized network performance.
- Meraki MR Wireless Access Points: Integrated security features and advanced network analytics.
- Meraki MT Sensors: Environmental and security monitoring via the Meraki Dashboard.
Smart Building Solutions
- IoT-driven infrastructure with PoE and network segmentation.
- Environmental monitoring and energy management via IoT sensors and Cisco DNA Spaces.
- IP-based security systems with centralized monitoring.
Beyond the technology deep dive, the visit also provided valuable insights into the partner program, ensuring we stay ahead in delivering integrated security solutions. It was also an excellent opportunity to connect with other Danish and Norwegian Cisco partners, strengthening collaboration across the ecosystem.
The Road Ahead
With Cisco and Splunk now under the same roof, the synergy between Cisco’s security stack and Splunk’s advanced analytics will drive new opportunities for enhanced threat detection, automation, and security intelligence. Our visit to CXC reaffirmed the potential of these integrations and how we can leverage them to better support our clients.
Thanks to Comstor and Cisco for facilitating an insightful and productive visit.
